Loan officer learning path

Use this route if you create or review lending applications. It follows a borrower from the initial search through calculation and review, then separates approval from the authorised lending action.

Plan
About 90 minutes of reading and practice.
Start with
Workspace access, a test borrower, and a selectable lending product with an active version.
Finish when
You can calculate and review an application, explain its status, and verify the lending result or hand-off.

Route

  1. 1

    Understand the records

Learn the boundary between borrower, application, and loan records before changing an application.

Check: Explain why approval does not itself create a loan.

  2. 2

    Find or create the borrower

Search before creating a private or legal person, then review the record used by the application.

Check: Confirm the borrower's identity and that no duplicate record was introduced.

  3. 3

    Process a first application

Follow the complete normal path using a test case and the product available to your role.

Check: Record the application number, product, amount, calculation result, and current status.

  4. 4

    Read terms and calculation

Check inputs, calculator choice, totals, dates, commission treatment, and the payment schedule.

Check: Reconcile the visible summary with the schedule before processing the application.

  5. 5

    Review and process the application

Use the action available for the current status and distinguish review, approval, rejection, clarification, and lending.

Check: Find the resulting status and corresponding history entry before repeating an action.

  6. 6

    Review supporting evidence

Use dated enrichment results, documents, notes, and history as supporting information where they are configured.

Check: Confirm the borrower, result date, missing sections, and any unresolved provider failure.

Role boundary

If your role cannot approve or lend, finish at the last permitted status and hand the application to the authorised user with its number, calculation result, completed checks, and unresolved items. Do not use another person's account to complete the route.

If Lend returns an uncertain result, check the application history and Workspace → Loans before retrying. A second attempt can create duplicate work if the first request completed.
